Which Boswellia frankincense can be chewed
People ask me all the time, which ones can i chew or suck on?
There are many you can use but some cannot because they are too hard and will not melt correctly in your mouth. Boswellia frereana is actually called the “chewing resin” and the best grade to chew is second grade which I do sell. It is actually sold more to the Arabic nations just for this purpose, It has a sweet honey type smell and taste. All the Boswellia hojari sacra except Black, can be chewed but beware they might not dissolve like B. frereana. Boswellia hojari black is quite hard and you may find it will not melt correctly. I normally suck on these resins instead of chew them and I find they last longer too. These types are very good for soothing ones body.
Boswellia papyrifera is another resin that can be chewed or sucked and has a very pleasant taste and smell, this one especially can calm the mind.
Boswellia carteri is another one that can be chewed or sucked also with a pleasant taste and very grounding and balancing.
Boswellia serrata is another one but it is an acquired taste- you either love it or hate it. It is also good for soothing one’s body.
Word of warning: These resins have oleoresin gum in them and if you have tooth fillings or caps my advise is to suck them do not chew them or you will find it will pull the fillings and or caps off your teeth. Also with the sacra and the rest except B. frereana. they are quite hard and you can crack a tooth.
I suggest you purchase a small amount at first to decide which one is pleasant and works for you.
